The Life of Corrie ten Boom

Born to a watchmaker in the Netherlands in 1892, Corrie ten Boom is a exemplar of sacrificial love and care for her community. During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Corrie ten Boom and her family helped hide Jews in their home to protect and care for them. They were eventually caught and sent to the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Corrie ten Boom survived and wrote about her experience in the powerful book The Hiding Place. Her life is one of inspirational faith and a willingness to do what is right. The TenBoom project is named after her, and hopes to honor her legacy and continue her work of community care and growth in our very own local community of Upland.

Mission Statement

______________________________________________________________________

The TenBoom project is established on the hope found in Colossians 3:1 which points us to look up to the realities of heaven and fix our vision on the promise of the New Jerusalem. The Bible depicts this New Jerusalem as being extraordinary in its glory and beauty, as well as the location where the relationship between God and humanity will finally be restored. Until this day arrives, the mission of the TenBoom project is to emulate the restorative work exemplified in the life of Corrie Ten Boom. After helping save over 800 Jews and being a captive herself, Ten Boom expanded her ministry by opening a rehabilitation center after the war, restoring the lives of survivors by offering care for their physical needs and the gospel of Jesus Christ for their spiritual needs. In the same way, the central ambition of the TenBoom project is to restore downtown Upland, transforming it into a space that reflects the beauty and functionality of the New Jerusalem, ultimately advancing hope in the realities of heaven.
